Awesome Mexican to-go spot attached to a gas station! Here's how you always know when it's about to go down. Most Mexican restaurants attached to gas stations are fantastic. The cost is significantly lower for the space itself and all the attention goes into the food. There's a line out the door and it's all hungry and the most hard working men in the world. These guys need to be very satisfied to be outside and in the heat building, fixing, or maintaining the cities we live in. We were greeted with a very infectious smile. Ordered our tacos and were originally going to eat outside of the business but they've removed all seats & tables. So we just drove down the street to the beach and enjoyed them with an ocean view instead. Could not have worked out any better.The store is very bright and clean. Our Quesabirria tacos were filled with very tender meat, lots of gooey cheese, cilantro, and finely chopped red onions. The shells of the tacos are crispy and greasy perfection. The consomé is so good you could just drink it straight. Don't forget to squeeze lime all over everything...There will most likely be a line during peak times but it moved very quickly. Totally worth waiting for and like I said enjoy your food at the beach if you have a few extra minutes to get down the street. So good and will definitely be back!!!

Food (5/5 stars):I was so excited to try Agave Birrieria in Encinitas because I love birria. Their Quesabirria Tacos were a hit for me! The meat was so tender, flavorful, and juicy--each bite oozed out with the juices. And dunking the tacos into their consomé...chef's kiss!Experience (5/5 stars):* Price: a tad pricey but worth* Wait Time: minimal on a Friday evening* Service: good* Parking: there's a small parking lot* Ambiance: it's a small, takeout spot with no seating

Food was fine (just good nothing special but good). My husband had a birria plate and he h said it was delicious. I had rolled tacos and they were average at best. Service lacked friendliness, but it's a taco stand next to a gas station. I wouldn't mention it if the young woman wasn't so unfriendly and then proceeding to tell us we could bit have more than two salsa packets for free. Price - ridiculously expansive for a take out taco stand.

Great lunch spot for pickup off Orpheus Ave. The carne asada plate with rice and beans was very flavorful. I would recommend the guacamole and chips as a side. The service was quick, and the staff is very friendly.

Great birria is at a Chevron off the 5 freeway! Yes you heard that right. This newer restaurant is a a bright place but is only take out. No tables, just a counter to order at with a knowledgeable lady at the counter. The food came out quickly. As we were waiting we noticed there were several regulars who came in and she knew their orders. The Al pastor, beans and agua frescas were also good. If we are ever in the area we will come again.

Had a random thought to try Birria Tacos for the first time...but it was late at night and all the normal taco spots were closed. Except for this one! Haha The location seems new and clean, staff is friendly and answered all my questions. She advised that I order the Queso Birria since that's the one that everyone raves about so I got 1 of those plus a regular Birria Taco, and 2 street taco sized carnitas ones.The carnitas tacos weren't anything to rave about...pretty standard and they had a pineapple salas on top that I did not like, kinda wish they said that I came standard that way, I would have asked to remove it. As for the Birria tacos...the Queso Birria was definitely the way to go! The taco and "juice" or broth (not sure what it's called) was tasty! The plan Birria taco was boring and needed the juice or atleast some Salas.So I'd say this spot is decent for some quick and late night eats but it's not my first choice for tacos or maybe even Queso Birria if it's during daytime hours.Points for kind staff and pretty decor. :)

You would never think such a small place next to a gas station would have food this good. I had the chile relleno burrito and it was so good! Bigger than I expected and very flavorful. My husband had birria tacos and each taco came with a small consomé which was just as delicious. I just wish they had room to enjoy out food there. Other than that they get five stars for their food and service!

Best Birriea tacos in the Encinitas area! This is a carry out only place so would be easier to place your order ahead of time.We tired queso birria, potato tacos and el pastor. Everything tasted fresh and so yummy!

Legit. Amazing birria next to the gas station. Super quick. Awesome food. Grab and go. Much needed birria place around here. So glad to find you! Woo
