Afro Joe’s Coffee & Tea

Very cozy community focused coffee shop. Set back off the street in an old auto shop the space is very unique and has a huge patio out front.Staff were very friendly and the coffee and food was great as well. Drip coffee had a nice robust flavor and both sandwiches and pastry we got were very good.Beyond that the space hosts community events for artists and families like movie nights & book readings.If we lived closer this would definitely be a regular drop in.

The service is always good here. They get to know your name and when you become a regular they get to know your order too!The food is great. The young folks make it in front of you, fresh. If you're in a hurry they have pastries up front so you can grab and go. There is parking and a large porch section to sit outside as well. Often you'll hear two or three other customers singing or humming along with the music and it is nearly impossible to come inside without seeing a friend or making one before leaving. This is the perfect stop after morning drop off during the week and during weekend morning walk. Highly recommended!

Everything was great! ~Service-Excellent, friendly & personable~food-fresh and fast ~Environment-welcoming and cleanI drove about 30 mins. To meet a friend and it was well worth the drive! The short rib sandwich was delicious

First-time visitor, and I enjoyed it. We ordered the South side short rib grilled cheese and the out West wrap ( proud Westsider here). And both were great. They were perfectly toasted. The price point was right, and the service was good. My only wish was a dipping sauce (personal preference). Both sandwiches lacked sauce.

My friend and I loved this place! The food was great as well as the coffee! The service was wonderful everyone was very friendly. We sat outside and loved how cute the outside area was. This will definitely be somewhere I will take all of my out of town friends

Afro Joe's was a recommendation so I visited for lunch on my day off work.If I could give Afro Joes 10 out of 10 stars I would!This was my first ever visit and I could tell immediately the place had great vibes. Orange color scheme and design which looked happy and bright.Parking:Parking lot and street parking.Place looked close to public transportation.A cute dog park is close to parking lot.Outdoor and indoor dining available.I was warmly greated by staff near the register/coffee bar.I ordered the Englewood Sandwich and chips to go. A buzzer is given to customer and activates/buzzes when order was ready. Sandwich was delicious; grilled roasted turkey breast sandwich on sourdough bread, panini style and toasted perfectly. Check their menu for all sandwich ingredients-all flavors in sandwich were excellent.A full menu of coffees, breakfast, lunch and desserts were on display.I will be back to try their very popular South Side Short Rib Grilled Cheese.Cheers!

For months, I had a reminder in my phone to go to Afro Joe's. For months, I never made my way to the Far South Side. When I did, it was too late to get to Afro Joe's. Today, I followed through on the reminder and I got there early enough to properly enjoy it.I ordered a latte and a BLT. I give them high marks for whatever beans they used because the coffee had a natural sweetness to it, as if it had been cold brewed and then heated. No, there was no sugar added. I can attest to that. As to the BLT, they put it on grilled sourdough bread that made the flavor stand out more than it would have it had been on white bread or even on wheat bread.There was a constant bustle of customers coming and going, as well as taking coffee for a sit-down. I noticed lots of customers bringing their laptops and getting in some work or personal surfing. It's easy to see how the quality of the coffee and food along with the welcoming service could have individuals become repeat customers. I'm glad that I finally made my way down to the South Side to try out Afro Joe's. I'm sure I will get back over time.

Afro Joes a hidden gem in Beverly,IL. Where the staff, service, coffee , and food are outstanding along with a great cup of Joe. i would recommend the entire menu to co workers , friends, & family. A must visit for the Beverly Hills neighborhood in Chicago.

What a vibrant and beautiful addition to Beverly. Loved my lavender latte with almond milk.They have sandwiches, sweets, and coffee. Love the cool vibe of this place. They have beautiful artwork on the walls, and outside patio, and small spot for dogs. Great friendly service.

Wow! Amazing super friendly and knowledgeable staff and impeccable service, new hours - 7 days a week! Special nights for family friendly events! And a loyalty rewards app! And, and, and...drum roll - ham-and-cheese croissants!! My new favorite neighborhood spot!
