The place is great and crowded. We came here for breakfast but wow the variety was mind blowing!Try banana bread , bacon and coffee here. yes these are the BEST! I am not a coffee lover.. except for Starbucks i don't have coffee anywhere but u liked the coffee!! My BF liked egg Benedict, he said it's very good. This This place is wow! You can have brunch/ breakfast!! We did not have dinner or lunch options so I can't comment on that but Must try cafe!

This is not your typical restaurant. It is a small kitchen located in the Alano Club, a Member only Sober Club/AA Meetings. Don't come in here expecting space or glamour. You walk up to the counter, order your food, sit at one of the 6 tables and enjoy. We ordered the French Toast w/ hashbrowns and sausage and the French Dip w/ potato salad. Everything was fresh, homecooked, goodness. It is cheap, no frills, good food. If you don't like the environment, order your food Togo!

It was the worst experience in terms of breakfast. I found this place accidentally, saw the reviews were really good and decided to come even though the place was super simple.I ordered my breakfast with 2 eggs, ham steak, potato and toast and sat at the table waiting for food. Server later came to me and told that they didn't have any more ham and have only half a piece. Offered to substitute rest of the half with sausage patty, I agreed. Then he brought me food without patty and wanted to walk away. Only when I asked where is the patty he said they also ran out of it. I asked, where is my potato and toast and it appears he forgot to order for it in kitchen. By the moment they brought it I already finished eggs and ham. Potato appears to be tasteless so I decided to not even finish it.As a compensation for this mess that gave me $2 back and added mushrooms to my food when I asked. All in all, price for this breakfast was $12 + tip. For this money you can have much better food in a simple place. Will not recommend to anyone.

Tastes like home, feels like family. Aces Cafe at Alano Club of the East Side is a walk-up cafe, with a simple straightforward menu serving classic breakfast and lunch. On a grey Saturday morning in July the mood was somber but the atmosphere was livened up the joyful greetings from the gentle man behind the counter. Note this is not an AA club but I understand it provides a similar benefit to the community and with that context, consider Yelp doesn't have a suitable option for any diners who wish to leave a review but prefer to remain anonymous. I had a scrambled egg, slice of bacon, short stack of fresh blueberry pancakes, cup of coffee. Great stuff.

This is literally a hidden gem. The food is great, and since it's so secret it's not overrun for weekend brunch. The service is volunteer, and since it's alcohol free I love taking kids and sober friends there. I recommend whatever social dish they've made, or their egg dishes.

Went to have breakfast at Aces over the weekend and the food was great. I'd give a 10/10 on the fluffy pancakes. If you're looking for a traditional breakfast this is the place to go. However, the ambiance isn't the greatest. Part of the place is closed off for club members only (which I think are reserved to people who are members of AA meetings) and the place to sit for non-club members is very small. About 4/5 tables. It's in a small little cottage/house which is really cute. Cafe has a lot to improve on renovation and cleanliness wise, I got a little queasy from the dirtiness look of the place. But the food was pretty good. If you're looking for a place just SOLELY for good food Aces is the place-not so much if you're looking to enjoy your surroundings. Overall, great place with friendly staff.

Very cute and very cozy. Small seating area. Ran by the local AA chapter. Not what we were expecting but the gentleman running the counter was very sweet and very welcoming. Not exactly how I planned to spend my 21st birthday morning but very pleasantly surprised.

Aces Cafe has existed for a long time but in Alano Club which has made this a hidden gem.The cafe has great food and amazing quantity. Basically the breakfast is brunch:)The cafe may look different but on a sunny day would be a great visit. I'll recommend this place.

Walked in the open door without any signage and could hear clanking and clattering. It took a minute, but a friendly face poked his head around the corner and welcomed me. He showed me the breakfast menu and I ordered the B&G. He said that was a great choice. He(Scott the Scott)said the biscuits were made from scratch every day. Later he told me the sausage gravy was made when the order was made.It was how I remember my Grandma's.Scott has a real pride in his work. Although the environs are the opposite of swanky, it was friendly and I left with a smile.
