Woah!!!! Banger alert!!!Got a flight and partook in the food too. Its a menu and sort of fine-dining feel (and pricing) to it.Luckily, the mussels were absolutely aces and the beer I tried was JAWDROPPING. Their lighter selections were so well done and unique. Alter Reality and Abnormally German are a MUST!!! Balanced sweetness, pilsner goodness.Their Hazy, American IPA were very reminiscent of old Burgeon, like a supercitrus but still good. Its close to my house and I should come more often, I had tried their beers before but never been to the location. If you still go to Stone, then its time to step it up and go here. The ambiance is legit.Customer service was good too.

We stopped into Abnormal on a hot day after golf and the cool and dim atmosphere was exactly what we needed!! Service was quick and thoughtful, we found the food to be really good and the drinks just ok. The carbonara was creamy and I loved the thicker noodles. Our friends got the wings and burger and said it was delicious and my husband ordered the poutine with a short rib on top. The poutine was everything he dreamed of. I also ordered the sour slushee and found it to just be ok, and I'm a big sour fan! This was a nice spot and mellow, but otherwise a bit out of the way for it to be a normal hang.

(note, this brewery is listed twice on Yelp, the address is the same, but one has a suite number. I tried to flag Yelp to merge these two, but they did not. Please do the same, kindly reviewer, and maybe we can get these merged)Outstanding! This is an emerald in a gravel pit. It's in a suburban area of San Diego with barely any breweries.Lucky for me, it's now one of my favorite breweries in San Diego! The setting and vibe is much more moody and intimate than your typical brewery. In fact, I was initially a tad put off and wondered if I was in the right place.Make no mistake though, pull up to the bar and browse the tap list and you'll realize that this place does indeed have big, brewery-energy.The taps are made up primarily of crisp lagers and tropical IPAs. These happen to be my two favorite types of beer (and they are rarely seen together like this at breweries)The food is also fantastic, the Nashville chicken sandwich is not to be missed. The bartender is friendly and knows his stuff when it comes to both the food and the beer selections. This place is so good it's worth a special trip up into the hills!

Abnormal has struck the very hard balance of a nice restaurant with a casual brewery vibe. The beer is top notch with quality ingredients. The chef has done a great job picking out dishes that are casual for a brewery but made with nice touches. Highly recommend this place. It's perfect catching up with a friend over a beer, a work event, or family gathering. My only complaint is that the Birra dip was $22 and came with only 7 chips. It was a tiny app. My Rueben was $17 and much larger

The amusing part of this review while I was writing this, was that I had come here for a Yelp Elite Event (Cork and Craft) 2 nights prior, and found out Abnormal Beer and Cork and Craft were combined. This location was so close to work! Then a happy hour event popped up on the calendar mentioning that it was here... and it was like the universe was saying, Lisa, I want you to know that you will frequent this place more often.I had the thrill of coming here 2 days after coming here for the Yelp Elite Event, and came to the shock that the food menu had changed since then. And...Matt was my group's server that night! I was originally looking forward to sampling their specials - garlic bread, but didn't get the little specials paper. And after talking with Matt, he gave me the shocking news that their menu was changed. Alas, lobster roll - hopefully next time we meet!I ordered the brussel sprouts which were still super tasty! Although it got swapped for red onions instead of the red peppers that I had previously tried 2 nights ago, it was still really good.My friends N and J ordered the ceviche and a burger. N's burger was massive with 2 patties! He happily finished all of it and left nothing. J finished her ceviche, which was interesting because it was spicy watermelon gazpacho for the sauce.I happily nursed my lemon meringue pie 5 oz and got to know my friends more along with making new connections during happy hour. My friend N liked the key lime pie version. It was hot when we were drinking, and they graciously shut off the lights, which made a HUGE difference! Their decor was a bit rustic, so they had heat lamps on. We were all sweating up a storm, so it was huge relieft when the turned off the middle one for our table. It was like INSTANT relief. The happy hour group met regularly after work on Thursdays, so if I come again, I know who I'll see!Parking was plentiful with their lot and also street parking. They share outdoor and indoor seating. Abnormal Brewery has the bar area where they do trivia nights. They have a bigger room (which you can reserve for events but have to spend a specific $ amount for food and drinks I believe). Their kitchen has seating indoors, and they also have a section outdoor for seating.

Nice place to eat & drink. The Beer making equipment is on site which makes for a nice ambiance. The food was delicious and the beer flights could be any choice of 4 on the menu. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately there was a limited selection of shirt sizes to buy on the day we went.

Abnormal Brewing has been on my radar for a while. I felt very fortunate to get an opportunity to try one of their beers over the weekend.I was not disappointed in the slightest with the beer selection that Steve and I had.We had the Drift Away which is a Coconut Cream Ale. We love cream ales and feel like we don't get to try them often enough. The flavor in this is fantastic. Yes, there is plenty of coconut flavor to this beer and with that some sweetness but nothing that was too overpowering in the sweet. Perfect balance and the creaminess feature kicking in made for a very enjoyable beer! Definitely recommend!

4% surcharge on bill without explanation - no disclosure on menu. Wouldn't go back even if the beer wasn't just slightly better than mediocre as it is.

A friend and I happened upon this place by searching for a place to eat on yelp. Could not be happier that we decided to give it a try! All of the food portions are meant to be shared which let us try multiple options. There is so much flavor packed in that you wouldn't want an overly large portion. Everything was perfectly balanced and delicious. I'm not a fan of beer so I opted to try their "beer smoothie" and shockingly enjoyed it more than expected. The staff were all kind and helped and the food came out quick. Can't wait to take traveling guests here!

Beer was great, food was okay. Tab was free on account of another patron making some snide remarks that deserved a good punch in the face. Rather than de-escalating the situation the bar manager sided with the other patron. In the end he comped our tab. I'll take it but won't go back.
