I've been eyeing this place on my walks on 18th but usually they are close in the evening so this Sunday morning decided to go and give it a try. The place is really cute. It's a bit small which adds to the intimate and close connected vibe it has. Also the large windows are great. I imagine this place has folks come and do work in there for a bit. The selection is lovely. Was glad to know they had breakfast and lunch options. The breakfast sandwich I had was good. Not as fulfilling as I was expecting but it was tasty. I ordered La Tóxica, which is a combo of café de olla and horchata. It comes only iced because of the horchata, and that's just the way I like it. It's very pretty too look at, but wasn't a top ten favorite of combo drinks I've had in my life. Regardless, it's a cute local place.

I stopped by A Cup of Joe on the way to a friend's place. I had heard great things about the coffee shop and it did not disappoint. I asked the girl at the counter what drink she would recommend. She told me one of their most popular drinks was the mazapan latte. I decided to order it cold and made with oat milk. This was my first time having a mazapan latte, and anything mazapan flavored at all. I personally really liked the mazapan - it is a subtle peanut/almond flavor and I could taste some crushed mazapan in my latte. The overall latte itself was smooth, with the expresso being bold enough not to be overshadowed by the mazapan. I decided to grab a chocolate chip cookie on the way out. It was very good, with a nice balance of chewy and crunchy. It was very delicious paired with the latte. The people working at the counter were very helpful and friendly. The space itself is mostly black and white, but there was so much natural sunlight coming through the windows that the ambiance was warm and friendly. I am looking forward to going back to A Cup of Joe and trying out their other menu items!

I drove through Pilsen to get a cup of coffee before work. First time customer. Friendly service. I asked about the cafe de olla. They were kind enough to let me try it. It was delicious! I am a creature of habit so I still ordered my typical latte with honey and cinnamon. It was delicious! Thank you for my perfect morning cup of Joe

New small coffee shop in Pilsen. The service and drinks were great. I got the iced cha cha latte (horchata latte) and my friend got the Mexican hot chocolate which were both delicious.

I'd been waiting for this place to open, and I was excited to finally come in and try one of their coffees. They have quite a few unique drinks that include Mexican faves (e.g. mazapan, horchata, churro). I can definitely recommend La Toxica, which is a mix of horchata and cafe de olla, which was a refreshing, not overly sweet way to start the morning. The baristas were super nice and great to talk to 1 def looking forward to coming back!

I've been living in Pilsen for decades. Love having a fourth cafe option in the neighborhood. What I like most about ACOJ is that they actually had pastries available. If u go to the Bean or Sleepwalker, they are ALWAYS out. Mandala has some, but I don't like their options. Anyway, I got the blueberry scone and was disappointed. I didn't hate it, but it was not special. The Bean has the best scones and pastries: Sleepwalker serves amazing donuts from Do-Rite. I think the scones at ACOJ were from Costco or something. They need to fix this asap. As for the coffe, well, it was just okay. I put like two tablespoons of half and half in my hot Americano and almost lost the coffee color, so it's obviously too watered-down. If u like weak coffee, this could work for u. I like mine rich, like stove-top-espresso rich. Sleepwalker has the best hot Americano, The Bean has the best iced Americano. Mandala's coffee is third. I sure hope ACOJ works on their pastries and makes their espresso stronger. Their customer service and ambience are both great. I really want this place to work out. I like options.
