Do you like bugs in your soup or congee, just floating around like it's enjoying its little spa?Yea, me neither. My wife and I caught COVID and we got a DoorDash from 663 Bistro. Upon pouring out the contents of the soup, my wife found bugs floating around. That's abhorrently disgusting and appalling. We're trying to recover from our sickness, not trying to get worse. Wash your vegetables please. Or just have a little bit of quality control for Pete's sake. If I could give this a 0 star, I would. Unless you want some special bites of unwanted bug protein, stay away!

I been seeing this place pop up on instagram and Yelp for their bbq so I decided to give them a try. We got the 4 meat combo, which we got the roast duck, the roast pork, the bbq pork and the pork spare ribs. First off, the portion was very generous. That alone can feed probably 2-3 people. Roast pork: omg the skin is soooooo crispy. We didn't eat the food until 30 minutes later and the skin was still crispy. The meat was also juicy and there was definitely chunks of fat on them. Bbq and ribs: pretty standard. Not super tender, bit very flavorful. I think they are on par with Kau KauRoast duck: I like that some of the skin has a subtle crispiness taste to them and was still juicy.Overall, it's a hole in the wall and it was delicious. I can see myself coming back to try their other food as well as their bbq. Their menu is extensive!

I've been coming to 663 Bistro for several years now, maybe near the time they first opened. This is a very honest assessment. I like their food. 5 Stars! I don't like their service, even at a "local Chinese" level. Yikes. In the past, when I had dine-in service, it was 'ok', depends on who's there. Today's take-out - very cranky people, just mostly stared at us. 2 stars.Their restaurant - it's a dump. 2 stars.Prices - 5 stars. Seriously. One of the best bargains and almost a secret. Even within the ID, their prices are amongst the best deals and portions are generous!Today's take-out:- Roasted Pork with Tofu over Rice - Large portion, delicious, lots of goodies.- Seafood Pan Fried Vermicelli - Large portion, this is my favorite dish in the entire menu. Great Chinese food has that wok 'scent'. This dish has it!- Curry Seafood, HK Style - Also generous portion with lots of seafood! I eat this over a serving of broccoli to make this healthier!During this COVID-19 period, please help out the ID and buy from one of these restaurants that are still open. 663 Bistro is one of them!

The jowl portion is disappointing but it's good. Everything else taste average. Portion is good for the combo but everything else decent.

663 Bistro (July 22, 2022)I have visited this restaurant many times over the years. Although they have an extended menu, I almost always order the Chinese BBQ take-out for ease and normally a quick in-and-out. The location has not offered dine-in service for some time due to Covid, and does not look like it plans to do so in the immediate future. Because of the significantly less dine-on volume, I am pretty sure many of the stored foods do not turn-over as frequently as they previously were, and will likely suffer some quality compromises when they are eventually cooked. There are certain dishes that are less likely to be less affected this way obviously, e.g. Braised Pork Belly with preserved vegetables (The dish is pre-cooked and frozen so you can reheat and enjoy anytime. Be warned that it is a very greasy dish with fatty pork belly, but it tastes heavenly served over white rice. A total comfort food!) My recommendation remains just to order from the BBQ meats either by weight, or in a rice box (Served with a side of vegetables, and a small duck soy sauce container to wet the rice dor added flavor.) You must ask for a container of the home-made hot sauce, whose flavor is specific to this store only. Currently a rice box with a single meat is $12 - lower end of the pricing spectrum compared with other similar BBQ stores. The store also started offering select Dim Sum middle of 2921 to generate additional revenue compensating for the Covid restrictions. These offerings are mostly Baos, pre-packed in a large take-out plastic box stored in a display refrigerator. Prices range from $9 to $11 depending on your selection. They generally taste good, and are priced less than other more dedicated Dim Sum specific places. Worth a try, though nothing spectacular.Customer service is ok. Beneficial if you speak the dialect, which I do. My preferred meat is roast pork. The flavor is consistently good, with little variation, (The roast pork here is roasted in slab form, as opposed to roasting the whole pig. Better quality consistency as a result.) The other BBQ offerings were fine as well. Be adventurous, and try all of them.Happy eating!P.S. There's always a waiting line during peak hours. Do try to avoid that and come at less common hours (e,g, 2 p.m.).

We got their 2 combo box with crispy pork belly and roast duck and it was some of the best pork and duck we've ever had. The meat was cut right in front of us, and it was incredibly juicy and tender. Wish there was a place to sit, but we just ate in the car. Such great value, go support this business!

In A Nutshell:-663 Bistro is a lovely Chinese BBQ joint.-This non-descript store offers up some hot & oily Peking duck (whole for $32 or 1/2 for $16.50).-They also sell pork.-The Peking duck can be chopped up into pieces w/ or w/out the head & packed to-go.-They accept cash or credit card.-Due to the popularity of this place by OG Cantonese speaking locals, you might have to wait a little bit while your ducks are cooked & cooled down.Overall, the Peking duck was very delicious, definitely worth the price & the wait.
