Some friends flew into Atlanta to attend our alma mater (California) play Auburn. We stayed in midtown, right around the corner from 5 Church. This was our last day together brunch spot, and it didn't disappoint. When I first walked in, I noticed writing all over the walks and the ceiling. These are quotes from The Art of War. I believe that's what the waiter told us. Luckily, we got in before the crowd, so the noise was next to nothing. We all thought the food was delicious, although the menu was a bit lacking for me. I had to order various a la carte dishes to simply have bacon, eggs, and grits. I'm a simple guy, so the "extras" don't impress me. Just give me the basic breakfast. But, it was good. And, I went back the next day, Monday, before heading to the airport. They had a different menu, but the waiter was kind enough to let me user a la carte again. I had the same thing. I told ya ..... I'm a basic guy. LolThe rooftop bar is also nice. It overlooks a sprawling and vibrant intersection. We were there during the day, so the fire pits weren't on. I can only imagine this place during the evening.

So we decided to check out 5Church Midtown this past weekend for Saturday brunch. Although it's in a congested location, parking was easy and they do validate. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entrance. The hostess and our server Jonathan were both nice. The vibe and ambiance at 5Church was pleasant with cool, interesting decor. It was also very clean. The prices were fair and comparable.I ordered a pineapple mimosa. It was room temp and only faintly tasted of pineapple. My guest ordered a draft beer which he stated was not cold either. People at surrounding tables were receiving their plates. Each one looking even more fresh and delicious than the last...I ordered the chicken and waffle and my guest, the chicken biscuit. Side note, he ordered the chicken biscuit because he was super hungry that day and our server described it as being "HUGE, the size of the plate, you'll definitely be stuffed." Well, it wasn't. It was an average restaurant sized chicken biscuit. Our food was brought to the table in a timely manner by another staff member. It was nicely plated and looked yummy. There was no butter or syrup with the waffle, neither was it offered. The guy set down the plates, in front of the wrong person, mind you, and he left. After switching plates, we dug in. The chicken was a little underseasoned, but not the worst I've ever had. By the time our server resurfaced for me to request butter and syrup, the waffle was cold. And, after I did request it, he returned with a ramekin containing a half stick of butter! Ice cold, straight from the fridge. So now I feel like you're being sarcastic and kind of a jerk because what am I possibly going to do with that. So at this point, I was just ready to leave. For the record, the chicken biscuit was said to be ok, with a shoulder shrug...Overall, I was not impressed with my 5Church midtown experience. It wasn't awful, but this experience made me not want to return or recommend this establishment.

5 Church could really improve on the time spent in making the food. It took almost an hour:It took 32mins to get our drinks and it's a Thursday and there's hardly anyone here. The food was ok. It's a friend's birthday and we are a party of 8. We did not have a good time there was just one issue after the other.Burger - DryFrench fries - cold and burntMashed potatoes- NicePrime Ribeye - NiceMushrooms - NiceBroccoli - NiceHowever, do you see how when the food comes out almost an hour late it just messes up the whole vibe.Mind you, I'm currently at the restaurant writing in real time. You can stop by maybe you will have a better experience than we all did. See pictures.

Took our friends out to celebrate their anniversary and making a milestone of 10 years! They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. JB took care of us and we had a blast at brunch! He clarifies that the place was basically an art gallery and that we are both eating art and experiencing it too! Very cool and chill place. We had a sangria carafe with red wine. Best choice in my opinion. Smart casual dress is highly encouraged! Great place to celebrate as we saw a few birthdays and also a few groups there together enjoying themselves. Always a pleasure. Cheers!

I was looking forward to coming here. I had this on my to-do-list. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. Our waitress Femi was very nice. It was clean and it wasn't too loud. No DJ playing music so loud we can't hear. My friends ordered mimosas and we had a good time My food wasn't that great. I had the fried chicken biscuits and it was dry. The gravy tasted more like melted butter. It wasn't the most memorable meal. I'll have to give it one more try another day

We had a bad brunch the day before in Helen GA so just decent service and decent food would have been enough last Sunday morn.5Church was more than that.We didn't have much expectations. Its located downtown on some busy streets so I expected maybe a work lunch type spot.We walked in and immediately looked silly. We had made reservations for their other location. They weren't too busy yet so we were still able to get a nice table. I was impressed right away by the décor. Their was a style that was classy. The touches like the multi colored steel tree were one of a kind. The lighting was especially unique. I started with a nice beverage called the Egress. Strawberry. We ordered and got rather quickly our appetizer, Sushi tots. It sounds like a gimmick but actually was really great. We then got chicken and waffles, and I got the shrimp and grits. Both were classically good.It started with a low bar, but 5Church jumped way over it.

I recently visited 5church Midtown while seeking refuge from the hurricane in Florida, and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, a perfect escape during a stressful time. The highlight of my experience was the exceptional service from the bartenders, Brandon and Marco. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made fantastic recommendations. The food was equally impressive, with a diverse menu that featured fresh, delicious options. I especially loved sushi tots, (MUST TRY) which was expertly prepared. If you're looking for a great place to relax and enjoy top-notch service, I highly recommend 5Church Midtown! Thank you, Brandon and Marco, for making my visit so memorable!
