Tried a poke bowl and it was really good. A bit expensive but the quality was really good. I will definitely try this place again. It is really a take out place ... don't plan to dine in. The staff was nice and prepped quickly Enjoy.

A peaceful sushi oasis in an unassuming storefront. 5b2f is an example of the greatness possible when restaurant owners really care. We started off with some tempura- crispy and freshly fried, it set the tone for what was to follow. I had the Black Ocean roll. It was huge and the tuna and salmon in the roll were incredibly fresh. Such flavor! This would be my regular sushi spot if only I lived closer!

Don't be fooled by the appearance! Behind the modest dining area with 3 tables and a narrow counter is hiding an amazing Japanese chef who is not only brilliant in delivering the highest quality of sushi and sashimi, cooking delightful hot dishes but also pays close attention to the presentation of his creations. My sashimi selection was delightful and miso soup very tasty. The nice nod to the classic Japanese cuisine was a delicious assortment of Japanese pickles. My husband loved the incredible dressing of the house salad, the right consistency of the egg rolls, and the freshness of the shrimp tempura roll. He was particularly fond of the rich flavor of his gyoza. Kelly made us feel very welcome at her restaurant. We cannot wait to be back at this hidden gem! Bravo, Akira-San! Save our table

Looooove this sushi. We get it on the weekly and it's been consistently yummy. Not fishy tasting. Fresh! We've also tried their miso soup. All the food is much better than some other sushi spots that are more expensive. Pricing is also what keeps us coming back. It really is quality at a wonderful value. Try it, you'll like it. You'll get it again. and again. and again...

Fresh fish and good value! Just look at the thick slab of hamachi on that nigiri! Interestingly, they don't put any wasabi at all on the nigiri - it's literally a slab of fish on rice.Nice selection of standard and special maki rolls. I just wish they had scallop nigiri or maki on the menu too.

I was craving a poke bowl and forgot I ordered from here before. They do curbside pickup and don't allow anyone to enter which was nice. Kelly poke bowl - the salmon was fresh and the spicy mayo sauce was really good. Next time I'll ask for no rice and get seaweed salad instead. Hamachi ponzu - really goodSpicy salmon roll - good Potstickers - decent, son ate it upOnly downside was that the order wasn't ready when I got there. Other than that, food was good. I'd definitely try it again.

I've passed by here so many times, but this was my first visit. It was a curbside pickup, but very friendly and right on time! They also accepted cash, which was awesome as I hate always having to use a card for everything. I got a spicy tuna poke bowl, it was SO delicious, exactly what I was hoping for, and craving :) the fish was very fresh, all the ingredients were delicious. I also got an order of egg rolls, they were smaller then what I'm used to in a Chinese restaurant, not the typical Chicago style Chinese egg rolls, but still very good. They're lighter and very crispy. Satisfied my craving for some crunch and fried food! I 100% recommend this place, I can't wait to come back, they're so close it may become my regular sushi stop.

Wanted a poke bowl for outdoor concert in Glencoe. This place was on my way, so called ahead -person was very helpful - and ordered Naughty Poke. When I arrived, they knew my name - order was ready and carefully wrapped for easy transport. Food was delicious! The mushrooms and pineapple were something I have yet to have in a poke bowl, but this combination of flavors complemented each other very well. It was so much food, I was unable to finish. So good!

5B2F Akari is amazing!! We happened to stumble in and were blown away by the quality of food. We live in downtown Chicago and have eaten our fair share of sushi and this place is better than most. Everything was so fresh and tasted delicious and the owners were so nice! Highly highly recommend, best sushi in the area.
