This review is for Jordan, one of the managers at 1928. My husband and I are beacon hill residents so 1928 has become a staple and go to for us. Every time we are in there, Jordan takes the time to come over and thoughtfully greet us, recommends new delicious cocktails they put on their menu along with any other new food items that come out. He really creates such a friendly atmosphere and we could not be happier with such an awesome place right outside our door! You can tell that Jordan really takes pride in what he does, it's so nice to see and it translates beautifully into all the delicious food!

1928 was such a wonderful experience! I came here for a birthday dinner, and every single item we ordered tasted amazing. The service was wonderful, they were kind and friendly, and we didn't wait too long for food (as you might in other very upscale restaurants). The ambiance was very fancy and gorgeous, the seven of us kept gushing about the decor, lighting, materials, etc.I split the burrata, crab cakes, and tuna tartare for the appetizers - everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We couldn't believe how good it was! The burrata was especially my favorite of the appetizers.I ordered the seared sea scallop truffle risotto - it was insanely flavorful! I would go back just for this alone!Highly recommend, I can't wait for a fancy excuse to come back here :)

Went for brunch today with a few friends as they said dinner has been very good; however we were a bit disappointed. First the food wasn't all that great you can see the eggs Benedict was very overcooked and the presentation was so underwhelming and it was $19 for the eggs Benedict and the 2 spears of asparagus. The stuffed French toast was so flat it seemed like they took a pannini press to it. The single piece of French toast was also $19! And the pancakes were also a bit underwhelming and the presentation of all the food was sad--not even a piece of fruit as a garnish. And when she asked for butter they brought chunks of cold butter that was too cold to melt. Maybe some whipped butter at least? The food came out in long gaps. One person's breakfast potatoes came to the table after she finished her meal as did someone else's order of sausage. We had to ask for refills of coffee.Perhaps it was an off day but we wouldn't go back anytime soon.

Went for brunch today. We made a reservation but likely didn't need it. Drinks were very overpriced, a basic mimosa was $18 and I did not taste any alcohol. Service was attentive and friendly. My omelette was delicious but also not sure it was worth paying $19. The space was cozy and well decorated. While I don't regret trying it, I don't think I will return.

I'm on death row, this is the last meal I get. I am offended with how good the food was here. I will arm wrestle anyone who has a single negative thing to say about this place.

And here you have it. The owner responds to my review saying we are a small restaurant and we can't accommodate people coming and going? Ummmm isn't that what a restaurant is? You come and go? Again, plenty of seats and even one next to us. You failed and this is your back handed apology. Like it somehow was our fault.

The word "Train Wreck" comes to mind. From the beginning, when we arrived for our 5:00 reservation that the hostess couldn't find, I quickly made sure to re-reserve as it was a birthday celebration. While we waited at the bar for the rest of our party to arrive (about 5 feet from the hostess stand), we decided we should be considerate of the crowd and sit at our table while we continued to wait for the remaining members of the party. Well, the hostess took it upon herself to cancel our reservation, rather than step the 5 feet and ask us if we still wanted our table, and proceeded to tell us that we would now have to wait for another table. We asked for the manager who stated that "we can't wait all night for people to take their table". Real top-notch customer service! Eventually, we were seated at another table where they made our party of 5 sit at a table of 4. Just keeps getting better.A waiter who was absent for most of the night. I think the staff was missing the day they taught that the customer was an important part of the business, rather than being treated like a nuisance. Such a unique and beautiful place. It's a shame they don't have the staff to match.

Wow what a bizarre night. From the hostess being really unwilling to get us a table even though we had reservations. We were waiting for our 5th person and we were at the bar. A person in our party went to the hostess and said your table has been taken. Like what? You see us at the bar? And this was a birthday celebration as well. The manager did seat us at a table finally. I text my cousin who owns a hair salon right around the corner. I told her to come for a glass of wine. She sat at our table right next to us and the server/manager came up and said you can't sit there. A party of 3 came along and that seat remained empty:-( And this person didn't even offer her another seat at the other end of the table. My cousin left disappointed and as she walked out met some women (not local from Colorado) who also had a bad experience there. Oh, and also, what is with the parfait glass half filled when I asked for a martini? And that martini (pictured to the left with the olives in it) was $22.Insane. Will never go back here. We were blessed to be in such good company, but it never should have been this way, especially with the cost of our drinks and dinner (which was good at best). Your establishment ruined a good portion of our evening. I hope that you learn from this review and do it right going forward.
