Excellent restaurant! I had the Spicy Sexy Dragon Roll and the Sake Don. The Sake Don was the most buttery salmon, it was incredible. The portions are generous. The seaweed salad is excellent, and it was perfectly layered. I was thrilled with the Spicy Sexy Dragon Roll. We got this as an appetizer. It's the perfect amount of heat, and the huge roll could easily be your meal. Our waiter was wonderful, he made great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the Sake options. We tried his favorite sake and it was delicious and smooth. The seating is comfortable, we did not feel rushed, and the whole experience was very nice.

This place knows how to make steak. Steak is excellent. The skirt steak, the prime ribeye, the steak fried rice. Excellent. The cod and the Chilean sea bass is DISGUSTING. They have a gross powdery sauce covering it. The fish was just extremely salty very gross. Just avoid those two dishes. The sushi was good. I'd order the sushi. The Brussel sprouts were also excellent. Our server was very nice. The atmosphere is very intimate. Very nice and clean. But avoid the sea bass and the cod. They're super gross. Like disgusting gross.

We had a large group and got our private area on the side to the left of the restaurant on a Monday for dinner. The restaurant was empty when I walked in. Since we were a large group, we had the opportunity to try many items from the menu. We ordered many different rolls, edamame, potstickers, sashimi, ribs, veggies, sea bass, chicken teriyaki. The sashimi was good, decent however nothing special. I enjoyed the rolls, they were good. The apps were decent, love edamame, but hard to mess this up. However the cooked dishes, such as the sea bass and chicken teriyaki were both very salty. The sauces were heavy on the dishes and it was difficult to stomach through. I did enjoy the veggies a lot and the asparagus and mixed veggies. The service was good, they were attentive. Sushi and rolls were good, however cooked food was salty.

I was excited to try this place when they opened. This location used to be The Curragh Irish Pub several years ago, then it became a pizza/sports bar. That did not last long though. The interior was beautiful. They did a great job with the huge space, which would be good for private events and big groups. For the grand opening, they had special deals on some of their dishes. After a couple of weeks, they did not have the specials anymore. They also did not have some of the dishes listed on the menu that I wanted to try.Anyway, my daughter and I shared (between the two visits):STEAK BENTO BOX- this came with big pieces of a SPICY TUNA ROLL and a salad. The steak had great flavors but because they served it on a sizzling plate, the steak got overcooked. They got dry and tough to chewDRAGON ROLL - beautiful presentation and it was deliciousCHICKEN BENTO BOX- the chicken breast pieces were served on a sizzling plate. They were dry and tough to chewRAINBOW ROLL- these were goodSALMON BENTO BOX- this dish was delicious.Overall, I'm glad that 1800 Cut Steak opened at the Glen. The space was neat and clean. The service was friendly and good. The prices increased a few dollars comparing their grand opening specials vs the current menu items though. I don't mind coming back and trying other dishes on their menu. Good luck!

Taste is just okay, not the best Sushi I had in the area for sure. Considering the relatively high price, it can be made better. Chicken Karage is pretty good tho.

Came here for my sisters bday and we were greeted by Chef Danny and seated immediately. We started out with a variety of appetizers. We tried the salted edamame, the miso soup, shishito pepper, chicken karaage, assorted tempura shrimp and diver sea scallops. They were all super tasty but really thought the star of the appetizers were the diver sea scallops which had a perfect sear and wonderful gelatinous consistency, they were perfect. The tempura shrimp were also amazing, they were large size shrimp with a light crispy and crunchy exterior. The rolls were wonderful as well, the ones that stood out the most were the spicy sexy dragon roll, the flaming 1800 and rainbow roll. The rolls had Alaskan king crab and lobster tempura which gave them an exotic flavor profile and really made the experience unique. One of the best sushi spots we have been to, highly recommended!

I am going to begin with positives and then go onto the areas that were less so.Positives:- When we entered we were seated within a minute or two.- The restaurant was very clean, modern and classy furniture. White linens. Ambiance good. - One waitress was helpful and quick to respond The negatives:- After being given water and ordering, a cocktail menu was placed on the table, after 20 minutes sitting there we were told they didn't have it. Then we finally ordered. - The waiter was obviously new and young. He was hard to hear when he spoke. He didn't know how to ask us if we needed anything the entire visit. He spent the entire hour waiting for things in the other room without checking on the customers. We weren't asked once for any requests. The food:- Miso soup - 5 stars. Very tasty, I would say it's the best miso I have had so far. A lot more tofu in it and other greens. - Mixed greens salad - I have no clue what this would be because they brought out the wrong salad. Missing avocado, and instead had carrots and tomato, as if they started to prep for someone to get the 1800 salad but forgot to put someone's sashimi on top and then sent out the wrong salads. The waitress came by and took it off our bill, the thing is, the salad tasted good.- Teriyaki chicken breast - Way overcooked and dry. I don't know what else to say about it. The rice was good (I was shocked that the chef had already put a drop of soy sauce in it because usually chefs let the customers decide on the sauce.) The chicken was quickly cut, I could tell because it was odd shapes and big pieces that wouldn't fit in my mouth. The vegetables on the plate would have been just fine with steamed broccoli, the caramelized onion wasn't necessary. 2 stars.- Unagi Don - was a bbq poke bowl essentially with bbq eel. For $35, it was tiny. Up the street is the poke burrito bowl restaurant for $15 with no consistency issues. However, despite the size, my partner gave this 4 stars on taste.Recommendations:- Have a 1 person bus tables to clean up- Have 1 person asking people and checking on small needs- Spend some time with the waiters to make sure they practice serving. Pretend or act it out and do a script or something. And if food isn't ready, have them do a round of checkins with everyone so we aren't waiting 20 minutes to order and find out the 1 drink we ordered wasn't available.- I think the owner needs to find out why the chef or person taking out orders, is messing up. Is the menu too big? Do they have the skills to know all the dishes? Are they short handed and juggling too many things? Maybe a 1 page menu would work better with maybe 3-4 appetizers, 2 salads, 4 entrees. Keep it simple until you can control the quality.I don't think I will come back. The competition for good food is too great. I have options. I can spend $87 for two people at a Japanese restaurant that gets most of these things right, I understand it's difficult to start a new restaurant, maybe take the feedback and choose a few things to work on. If the reviews come back better by summer maybe I'd give it another go. I wish you the best, because I do like the idea of this place. Also, the entryway table is too big and gets in the way when people stand at the bar, maybe a smaller checkin area. Thanks to the waitress with the ponytail. You did good.

We went right at the restaurant open and they weren't busy. The waiter was attentive and our needs were met immediately. The service was great. We went with the potsticker and truffle fries to start. The potstickers were delightful. The truffle fries were a slight let down, we were expecting more crunch and were met with a soft fry. We then ordered the prime New York strip, rainbow roll, and surf turf. The New York strip needed a little more seasoning but the rolls were on point. Overall this a nice up and coming spot. The modern appearance was inviting.

When you go to a place, and the sushi isn't up-to-snuff, it's a lot different than when you get just an average cheeseburger. Now I won't say the sushi at 1800 Cut was "bad", because nobody got physically ill, but it definitely was not good. The texture and taste were both off. Also, I'm a pretty big believer that sushi should be served chilled - not necessarily cold - but not on the warm side of lukewarm. We didn't order a maki roll that was deep-fried, or served hot, so I'm not quite sure why my pieces of nigiri were warm!? That, combined with a slimy texture and a fishy aftertaste, led to the loss of my appetite after only eating a couple of pieces of my lunch. I really don't like witting negative reviews, but isn't that the point of Yelp?!? Aren't these reviews supposed to be a beacon for other diners, and also perhaps a tool for the establishments that are serving our food?!? We stopped in for a business lunch at 1800 Cut and right off the bat we were all taken a back at the pricing. Believe me when I tell you that I am not a cheapskate, but almost $30 for a Bento Box is a little much. There were no lunch specials here.. and the average price per person was easily over $30. The menu at 1800 Cut was a mix of traditional sushi, some fancier maki rolls, hibachi selections (without the cooking stations) and steaks and chops offered as entrees. The Bento Boxes were easily the less expensive items on the menu and those were priced between $25 - $30/ea. Our server was fantastic. He was very polite and prompt. He was definitely not the problem. Unfortunately, the problem was the kitchen. At a a minimum, a restaurant's service and food need to be in simpatico, in my opinion, in order to at least have an average meal. And as our meal went from bad to worse, our server seemed genuinely empathetic to our experience. I brought two customers with me, and all three of us ordered Bento Boxes. Two of us got sushi Bento boxes, and the other got the Teriyaki Steak Bento Box. My customer ordered his steak medium well. The meal started with a bowl of miso soup and some edamame. Both of these were fine. Tough to screw both of those items up, My customer got his steak Bento Box before we got our sushi Bento Boxes, and being polite, he was waiting for us to get our food before he began to eat. A minute turned into two minutes... which turned into 3 to 4 minutes, and finally I just told him to start eating or his food was going to get cold. He cut into his steak and it was rare. When I say rare, it was as if the chef waved it over the flames and put it on his plate. He commented that the outside of the meat was lukewarm, while the inside was still cold. It was definitely almost Tartar. When you're paying $30 for a little piece of sirloin, and you are my customer, you send that shit back. He did just that, and moments after they took his food back, our two sushi plates were delivered. We all chuckled at the irony of the situation. He waited for us to eat and when we urged him to start without us, he ended up sending his back. Two seconds later and he was watching us eat. Both my other customer and I had the same experience with our sushi as told in the beginning of this review. Again, I will stress to you that neither of us became ill from the sushi, but neither of us ate more than one or two bites of our food. Mine came with a spicy tuna roll (you had the choice of either a California roll or a spicy tuna roll). I like a little spice and will randomly sprinkle my food with hot sauce. I will almost always order my wings "hot". This roll was really hot.. too hot. I ate one piece. When my other customer's steak came back from the kitchen, they had simply taken the same piece of sirloin and heated it up more to get it to medium at best. It still wasn't medium well. He finished his lunch because he was starving, but commented that none of his food had any real flavor. He was dunking his steak in soy sauce on a sushi dish to give it any kind of flavor. Disappointing. Our server picked up on our dissatisfaction, although I do make it a point to not focus on the food during a business lunch, so I played it off like it was really not a big deal. Truth be told, my customer and I had both completely lost our appetite because of the sushi. Our server told us the chef wanted to make us a special sushi roll because word got back to him that we didn't like our meal, but the last thing we wanted at that point was more sushi. I paid our bill (over $90 for three lunches - only one of which got eaten), and we left. There are too many places to eat around this establishment for 1800 Cut to survive. Wholesale changes are needed in the kitchen if there's any hope.
