1022 Cafe & Gelateria

Best chai in the area! Spicy from ginger and not too sweet. Very frothy. They are open late and the barista was super friendly.Communal gets 2nd place on the chain. :)

I was looking forward to getting a gift card for my co-worker's birthday today and was surprised when this place was not open around 7 am-ish. Website says they are open at 7 AM and I think their door does too? Opening at 8 AM seems a little late to me and the coffee shop across the street sure was open early!

Very disappointed with the Gelato here. Tried many gelatos shops and now I know why it's best when gelato is best when it is presented. We had their stracciatella which is NOT stracciatella. It's suppose to have chocolate shavings- theirs consisted of cheap oreo crumbs. Please do not call it stracciatella- call it kids cookies and cream. Next the "gelato" was a watery melted mush. Gelato is suppose to be served and stored at 10 or 15 degrees.. a temp that doesn't freeze the taste buds. Their gelato was no where close to this temp. Hence the importance of a gelato showcase container vs hiding in the metal tubs. Cooler was way out of temp. I knew choosing this place was a big mistake when the workers refilled and transfered their bins and poured the bins into another container which had a smoothie like texture. Will prefer presented showcased gelato stores over these. We were much better off going to the ice cream store less than a block away. The store was clean, decor was beautiful, service was great but if gelato is a Ferrari, their gelato is a ford with a Ferrari sticker

Returned one year later to an even more delicious gelato / affogato experience than I remembered. With their five star service and passion for their craft, this place is a diamond in the rough.

We found this place based on one of the local restaurant recommendations. And boy, am I so happy we went there. Gelato was an authentic and true Italian style gelato , not the tourist gelato style, but the real authentic type. And the espresso!!! Whoa!!! I can easily tell it was made to perfection after many many trials and much work went into to Perfecting it. The staff were friendly and orders made promptly. Bathroom was impressively clean. This place is a hidden gem! Don't miss the pistachio gelato .... It is to die for!

WOW!! This place is amazing. It's so rare I rate a spot 5 stars but the fact it's clean, workers are nice like REALLY nice and everything's made fresh makes it so worth it . Keep in mind though that this place is very authentic so when ordering something like a macchiato , you will get a real small bit in your cup. Also highly recommend the gelato , it was so creamy and delicious. Will be coming here again!! Also - The white mocha was my fave!! definitely recommend it

What a delightful, 100%++ experience all around. The gelato is made in house, they have a great selection of diverse and changing flavors, and the quality rivals anything I have even had in Europe. They also offer a great selection of beverages and seasonal rotations. To top it off, the customer service here is some of the best I've ever experienced. Shout out to you, Mariah! The employees here are passionate about their craft, and clearly care about the customer and their experience. I will come back here whenever I'm in town. Also, if you are vegan this is your place! I'm not vegan, but the vegan flavors were so mouthwatering that I ordered them anyway. I can say so many more positive things about this place, but I'd rather you just go there instead of spending your time reading more of my review. Treat yourself!

This gelateria is legit! You can tell that they are truly artisanal and care about their craft here. This spot is located in Downtown Oceanside where street parking can be found. Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by a pretty spacious interior with about 4-5 tables. They have a rotating menu with some very unique and delicious flavors. It took me about 10 mins just to decide which flavor I wanted since I was sampling everything!I ended up getting the sweet cream and lemon zest since it had the right notes of sour and sweet for me. The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. This spot definitely gives other gelaterias a run for their money!

This place is AMAZING! The gelato is one of the best that I have ever had (including Europe). All of their flavors are amazing. I particularly enjoyed the pistachio (you can tell it's made from real pistachios) and the caramel coffee & almond. Their espresso is also great. You cannot go wrong here. The only difficult thing is choosing your gelato flavors since they are all great!
